Amino Acids are the only compounds that your body uses to build or replace muscle tissue. They have been called the building blocks of proteins. Twenty amino acids are needed to build the various proteins used in the growth, repair and maintenance of body tissues. They cannot be stored in an available form by the body. Without enough protein, muscles become weak and flabby. There is a pre-established order of which organs need the amino acids first. If the protein supply is inadequate the body will cannibalalize muscle tissue to supply the amino acids to the heart, brain and other vital organs to use.

In order for the body to use amino acids, enzymes in the digestive tract must break down a complete protein. Megamino is the predigested product of a complete protein (derived from a milk source) containing all essential, non-essential and branched chain amino acids, ready to help build muscle tissue. Essential amino acids cannot be manufactured in the body, and must be obtained from food or supplementation.
